HRCC EXPO GOES GREEN WITH ON-SITE RECYCLING INITIATIVE |
April 23, 2008 |
As part of this year's special focus on Sustainability in Action at the Business Expo, HRCC member and Expo sponsor Jakprints, in partnership with Gateway Recycling, is coordinating an on-site recycling drive at the Expo for paper, plastics, and aluminum. Expo attendees are encouraged BRING CLEAN, DRY PAPER (newspaper, catalogs, magazines, office & computer paper etc.) PLASTICS (#1-#7), and ALUMINUM CANS. Attendees who contribute recyclables will be entered into a drawing for a fantastic gift basket full of delights courtesy of HRCC's active members, including wine from Marchetti Company. "The more recyclables you bring, the more raffle tickets you'll get!" says Jakprints owner Dameon Guess. "We're making it easy and fun for everyone to do their part."
"Eco-friendly has been our standard at Jakprints from day one," says Guess. "By establishing long-term relationships with the most progressive apparel, paper, ink and equipment vendors in the industry, we’ve made printing "GREEN" easy. We can help you make a big impression without leaving a big footprint on the environment." Jakprints uses soy & vegetable based inks and paper stocks made with a minimum of 30% recycled content, 100% bio-degradable water based coatings, 100% made-in-the-USA organic apparel, and can even create biodegradable banners and signage. They also lessen their ecological impact by recycling all of their paper scrap, and warehouse all of their own paper stock direct from the mill to minimize the pollution and gasoline consumption caused from daily paper deliveries.
"We truly appreciate Jakprints' commitment to reduce, reuse and recycle, and to raising environmental awareness in the larger community," says HRCC Executive Director Angie Pohlman. Jakprints will be featured in a special area of the Expo with other organizations whose practices, products, and/or services are contributing to the evolution of a sustainable Northeast Ohio. Other exhibitors in this section include HRCC's six member cities (Cleveland Heights, Lyndhurst, Richmond Heights, Shaker Heights, South Euclid, and University Heights), various business support departments of Cuyahoga County, Huron Hospital, The Illuminating Company, Southeast Metals, Rapid Refill Ink, Balanced Living Magazine, and HRCC itself. Come and learn how YOUR business can incorporate practices that enhance the health of our region!
